Forever and always pushing forward into the unknown, (the) Saint Alvia (cartel) are back exploring musical boundaries with their new album “The Static” ( March 2012).

Maintaining the spirit of bands like The Clash and The Band, with influences ranging from 20′s era blues to modern lo-fi these 2 time Juno nominees have been lying low perfecting a personal sound and formula. Alvia’s dirty, hook ladened sound successfully draws on classic blues mixed with a DC post punk vibe while invoking a mod flare and rhythm that is unmistakably new and fresh. Three years have passed since Saint Alvia have released a full length studio album and early reports say it’s hands down their best work to date. It is safe to say, no bands out there sound like (the) Saint Alvia (cartel).

The band released a new deluxe 7” vinyl single on US label Paper+Plastick Records this past spring, and have just completed recording their next full length album.

Saint Alvia has been nominated for two Juno Awards, been featured in Alternative Press Magazine, had top 20 songs at Canadian radio, and have been hand picked by the artists to tour with The Gaslight Anthem, Rise Against, Bedouin Soundclash, Billy Talent, Against Me, Kevin Lyman of Warped Tour, The Bouncing Souls, Youth Brigade, and many many more.

No strangers to the business, the make up of Alvia are founding members of seminal hardcore band Grade (Victory Records), Boys Night Out (Ferret Records), Jersey (EMI/VIRGIN), and The Video Dead (Stereo Dynamite). Fused with the spirit of the Clash, the eclectic nature of The Band, and a boundary pushing attitude, they’ve managed to create a sound that has been critically acclaimed, and repeatedly said to defy genres.
